Template tools merge fields. They cannot choose between clause variants that depend on each other, use facts that live outside the system they merge from, or assemble a multi-document pack. That work has always fallen back to lawyers, and it is the work the agents take on.
Complex, conditional documents and the packs around them: core agreements plus their joinders, addenda, side letters and comfort letters; terminations and replacements on a change of ownership; consistent amendments across a legacy estate; playbook-driven responses to high-volume inbound. At one client, agents now handle approximately 50 drafting tasks, up from a handful at launch.
